Photon is to file legal suite against their ex employees

In continuation to their barbarian employee policies, Photon Infotech is to file case against their ex employees. They send an HR notice on March 17, 2009 to around 20 ex employees who are currently working for a leading global health care solutions provider; stating that the employees violated the fundamental terms of employment agreement and asked them to reply with in 48 hours.

In the letter, Photon Infotech claims that the new company where Photon's ex employees are working is their competitor; even though Photon is just a services company who does not have any serious operations or products in healthcare, where as, on the other hand the other company is a very strong healthcare product development concern which does not have any operations out of their own healthcare products.

The electronic copy of the letter from Photon HR is attached below in standard JPEG format. Please click on the image for larger view.

Such an action was quite shocking for the ex employees of Photon. Many of them received the notice at their native by registered post and their parents got panic by seeing such a notice against their children in their absence. When talking about this issue, one of the recipient of the above notice shared her feelings with me about it.

She said that the company's claim is baseless . Not only Photon has no operations or products in healthcare but also the kind of work she was doing there has to do nothing with her present work. Whatever intellects, business secrets or sensitive information she acquired (if any) during her work at Photon has to do nothing with new job and no way going to help her present employer.

As an observer, I felt curious to dig more about the story. When listening to their stories, I realized that it is too late to bring this to the public for their knowledge and chosen the most popular digital media.

Most of all the ex employees who resigned their job at Photon and got the formal relieving documents have at least one painful story to share with. Some of them were being embarrassed brutally during their notice period, another set had to pay of huge compensation for getting the formalities even though they were in bench when putting the papers and served the notice period properly after resignation.

Many of them did not receive their financial settlements for the days they have worked during their notice period after resignation. The company somehow forced them to write a manuscript clean certificate stating that each has received their financial settlements before beginning the separation formalities itself.

The great irony here is that Photon is the number 1 worst company in most of the job review sites and it is proven that the good comments about them are written by the HR people only. Please see this link and this link for a sample. The comments there themselves proves the same fact. Google will have a lot of similar stories about the company and it is quite difficult to believe that the company is innocent and all the reviews are fake; since majority is against the company and most of the comments there are with proper reasons also. I agree that people might have written comments like "Photon sucks" etc. but I'd like to treat them as the real expression of people who does not want to reveal their identity and reasons.

The interesting thing out of this story is neither the ex employees nor the current people there have any good opinion about this organization on any of these aspects. Everybody knows that each of the negative statement above are true; including the HR people who are writing the positive comments about the company in the Job Review sites.

As a company, the HR policies are really weak and stupid there. When it goes to the areas like money or recognition for effort, the policies are even better at the market place. I don't mean to say that the complete HR team can be blamed for this; but a set of people are spoiling the name and working environment of the company and the management is supporting them blindly without seeing what they are loosing through their own hands. They never understand that the power of an IT company is the experienced intellects who can implement any business solutions with the technology and the company forgets that they can't keep such an excellent men force without proper employee satisfaction and respect.

Frankly speaking, any employees who are coming out of a company should not have complete a bad opinion about her ex employer; if not, it is a great proof for the failure of people at the HR desk and their policies. No point in commenting anything about the people who are thinking in this wavelength, since that is all about their behavior is their maturity, morality, diplomacy, knowledge and culture.

There is a hearsay that the one of the senior HR executives of Photon was caught for corruption during his employment with one of his previous employers for earning money illegally in recruiting the contract employees though some consultancies. If it is true, great; lets expect even better policies in future like this :)
